For years I have had headaches and neck aches with no explanation. After seeing my dentist for my annual check up she referred me to see Dr Vinny Vaithianathan, and he provided me with an explanation: teeth grinding can cause it. We discussed treatment options and following treatment my headaches and neck pains have decreased significantly. I went for my last review today and I am very thankful to have been treated by him alongside the assistants. I have felt supported in the experience and believe it was worth it.

I can’t thank Lewis Mainwaring, at the Cyncoed dental surgery enough for his fantastic care and professionalism. After a nasty fall while running, I ended up with stitches to my lip and a damaged tooth. I’ve never liked going to the dentist, but within minutes of sitting in the chair I felt completely at ease and in safe hands. Lewis explained every step of the procedure clearly, worked with great care, and everything was done totally pain free. My tooth now looks tremendous — you’d never know anything had happened! Truly outstanding service and I’m so grateful. Highly recommend!

I always have such a great experience here!! All the staff are so lovely, welcoming, and friendly. Vinny especially is absolutely amazing. He’s so kind, calming, and incredibly talented at what he does. When he took my tooth out, he was so comforting and talked me through the whole thing, making me feel completely at ease! It honestly ended up being such a pleasant experience! It’s like magic how much he’s helped with my jaw tension and teeth grinding. Rebecca is also wonderful - so friendly, gentle, and calming. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough!

fantastic service! - I was suffering with migraines, popping of the jaw, facial and neck pain. I was referred by my dentist to see vinny vaithianathan who has helped me week by week ensuring the pain i was suffering with disappeared and got me feeling normal again. first i thought it would never work and didn’t have much faith in the treatment but i stuck with it and it’s worked wonders for myself. I would highly recommend vinny to anyone who’s suffering with the same type of problems that i’ve had.

It’s taken a long while for me to get around to composing this review. I had been going to this practice since I was a child, however, their negligence has prompted me to relay my experience and how it has affected me. Not once in the numerous times that I have seen a dentist in this practice did anyone mention to me anything about gum disease. I always left feeling great that my teeth were fine. Not too far back, I started having some pain and sensitivity in my bottom, front teeth. I went there and asked for advice. The dentist noted that there appeared to be signs of infection but did not give me any guidance whatsoever, she seemed entirely nonchalant about it. I had to ask what I should do, “should I just keep using mouthwash” etc.. to which she said yes. The problem persisted, so a week later I booked in and saw a different dentist who advised they thought the problem was ensuing from my tooth alignment, I.e., the grinding/rubbing of my teeth against each other due to this. I was advised to see a specialist in this area at the practice, for which I paid around £50 for a, late, 15 minute appointment, only for them to advise that the way to solve this was to have composite bonding applied to my teeth. I was then referred to the professional, you guessed it, at the same practice that performs this treatment. On seeing him, of course, he advised that I needed bonding on around 18 teeth that would cost me 5000 plus and only last approximately 3 years. I requested my dental history and saw that they’d noted periodontal issues down but had just failed to inform me directly, thus no preventative measures were implemented. I mean, it’s a very basic conversation with a dental patient, I’d have thought 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway, after weeks of sheer panic, thinking I might end up losing teeth and researching going to Turkey, I contacted again to ask if they’d even see me if I had work done to my teeth abroad, to which I received a firm, NO. I mean, it’s not unknown that dental work abroad is much less expensive, so I was weighing up my options. Anyway, I rang around to see if ANY uk dentist would consider seeing me if I did follow through with treatment elsewhere and I found one that would, and I have never been happier. They have advised me that I needn’t do anything imminently, as my teeth are not that bad. They’ve advised I have more hygienist appointments, which I have been doing and I trust they will give me adequate notice and information regarding any issues. In comparison, the treatment at the hygienist I have received at my new practice puts that of cox and Hitchcock to shame. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere for your dental needs.
