Dr Atherton and her dental nurse Stacey are incredible at their jobs. I typically avoid the dentist at all costs and yet I find myself happily coming into the surgery in the knowledge I am more than safe in their hands. I have had both fillings and Invisalign/composite bonding done by Dr Atherton. I am so very pleased with my results. I think everyone should feel confident when smiling and Dr Atherton ensures that you walk away with all the knowledge you need to make the right decision for you and is genuine in her recommendations. My treatment plan involved weekly retainers over an 18-week period, with a revision at 16 weeks that led to an extension to 24 weeks due to a particularly stubborn twisted tooth. Once my teeth were properly aligned, I underwent two weeks of whitening to enhance their brightness. To perfect my smile, I had composite bonding applied to my top six teeth, adding length and ensuring a natural look. To maintain the results, I was provided with three-year retainers along with a permanent retainer for added stability. As part of my treatment, Dr. Alex suggested teeth whitening before getting edge bonding on my top six teeth, which truly elevated my smile. The bonding transformed my teeth from looking flat across the top row to a more shapely, natural appearance—even restoring the definition of my canines, which had worn down over the years. For aftercare, I had the option of three years' worth of night retainers or a permanent retainer. After discussing it with Dr. Alex, I decided on both—choosing the permanent retainer for convenience while also continuing with night retainers to protect against grinding during sleep, especially with the new bonding. Amazing dentist and affordable prices too. Had crowded teeth for years, lost my confidence and stopped smiling full stop. Dr Alexandra is a perfectionist. She made me feel at ease straight away I sat in the dentist chair. Everything went so smoothly. We did have to extend the time of treatment but that didn't bother me. The best dentist I have ever had, I had serious fear of the dentist due to past experiences with pain and sensitivity but Alex did not hurt me once and there was no pain whatsoever, I would highly recommend her if you struggle with any nervousness of going as she is the best, she also did an amazing job at my scale and polish as I usually avoid it due to sensitivity but I also didn’t feel a thing with that, they are both very welcoming and friendly, thank you both very much

Just been to the dentist to have treatment by Alex Atherton at Cross st dentist. I cant reccomend her high enough.She is so nice & makes you feel relaxed as well as being amazing at her job.My top teeth were very crooked and I was always very concious of them so I went private and went to Alex & the difference she made was unbelievable, well worth it!! Also & equally as friendly was the lady that helps her im sorry now I didnt ask her name. Overall a truly wonderful experience.

Going to the dentist is nobody's idea of fun so it is a delight when the dentist makes the visit as painless (in every sense) as possible. Like many people I get nervous when having treatment. I have just had to have a root canal treatment and I can't say that I enjoyed it but Alex was a joy. She inspires confidence. She takes the time to explain everything and carried out the treatment efficiently and painlessly. If you are in need of a great dentist then I couldn't recommend a better one. Thank you Alex.
