Before coming to Six Gables I suffered from extreme anxiety and distress when attending dental appointments. Since meeting Andrew Gardner, he has transformed the experience into an enjoyable and fun one. I was a patient of Andrew's for 15 years until I moved to London and had to transfer to a local practice. My experience at that practice was terrible, with them forcing expensive and unnecessary treatments on me and I now travel back to Cardiff for my dental treatment as no one compares to Andrew! Andrew prioritises patient care over everything and works hard to see me at very short notice.

I recently had my first dental appointment at the clinic, due to some pain in my teeth when brushing and flossing. I was really anxious, as I've always been scared to go to the dentist due to previous bad experiences and also because I'm autistic and the dentist usually leads to severe sensory overload. Sam Aboalkaz is great, he made me feel calm whilst he inspected my teeth and explained what was going on with my teeth in a way I could understand and answered all my questions. He was really approachable and honest and he minimised any instances that could have lead to sensory overwhelm. I highly recommend Sam as a dentist, he has great attention to detail , is a really honest person and he really cares about his patients and their comfort.

Got assigned here for an emergency appointment, and left in more pain and embarrassment then I came in with. The dentist was horrible and spoke to me in such a huff as if I was an inconvenience to his day (not my fault they accept emergency appointments), he looked at me for a grand total of 5 minutes and made me feel horrible about my issues and the fact my regular dentist was overbooked. He put in a quick filling that was like chalk and is so obviously discoloured to the rest of my teeth that I actually now feel embarrassed to even open my mouth. It seems unless you are a customer paying £200+ you won’t be treated with any shred of dignity here. I suffer with a a lot of anxiety and going to the dentists is always nerve wracking for me and I think this experience has genuinely worsened that. Would NOT recommend.

After I received an emergency appointment for an issue with my wisdom tooth that was causing me tremendous pain , I have had it removed here and I must say it didn't hurt at all, the procedure was explained to me very clearly and medication for the post-op procedure offered, the actual extraction lasted for what seemed seconds with no discomfort at all. I walked in crying and left smiling honestly extremely professional and kind dentists and nurses and the receptionists lovely, would highly recommend this dental practice and I wish all places were like this 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Was referred here by NHS for emergency and felt really taken care of everything was great. Decided I would register. Had a hygiene appointment booked, got the time off work, travelled there, parked and got to the reception to check in. Waiting in reception for about 5-10 minutes but because I showed up 3 minutes late the hygienist wasn’t willing to see me. I asked if they could see me even if I accept it’s not for the full 30minutes and they still declined and just send me on my way. No call near the time to check if I was going to be late (hardly at 3mins over). No warning that the hygienist demands the full 30 no more no less to stress the importance. Honestly shocking.

Last minute cancellations at times. Also when I go for an NHS check up I don’t appreciate being asked whether “i am happy with my smile”. Pushing aesthetic treatments is pretty poor practice. If I wanted any information about this, I would ask. Feels very predatory behaviour and exploiting the fact that there is far too much focus on appearance. I attend the dentist to check my oral health not to have my appearance examined.

After experiencing raging toothache, the lovely staff at Six Gables Practice managed to offer me an emergency appointment the same day I rang. I had an issue with one of my wisdom teeth which needed extracting. The dentist and practice nurse really looked after me, the procedure was explained very clearly and executed very efficiently. I am so pleased it was resolved so quickly by very efficient, friendly, staff.

Having been a patient at this practice for many years it's such a shame that numerous appointments get cancelled, despite being booked for 6 months in advance. Unfortunately a common theme at the practice at the moment 😡
