Once again I would like to thank the reception staff to the doctors Georgina Dickson and Alexa and their team who did my dental check-up and X-ray on 27/11/2025 dental hospital Newcastle. I am very grateful to you. While my English is very poor, they have supported me a lot. The first time I had my 8th tooth extracted here in 2024 and luckily for me to come here in 2025 my wisdom tooth, also known as my 8th tooth, weakened and broke, leaving a big hole, I have been in pain for months now. Although I went to the emergency room, the reception staff and assistants were enthusiastic but the doctors with cold faces did a cursory check and were given painkillers at another hospital but there was no interpreter support, and they were not wearing doctor's clothes and badges. I took painkillers many times but it did not work so I waited forever, I decided to go to Newcastle dental hospital without an appointment but luckily I met the doctors and staff that day who were wonderful. Thank you very much I appreciate you. My saviors

Wisdom tooth infection dismissed with no examination!! I rang 111 at 12noon after being woken by intense pain from what I knew was a worsening wisdom tooth infection (it has been painful on and off for more than a year). I was referred here for an emergency appointment, which initially felt reassuring. When I arrived, there was no proper check-up, no X-ray, and no attempt to assess the underlying problem. I was simply sent away with a course of antibiotics and nothing else. No explanation of the infection, no discussion of treatment options, and no plan for follow-up. I was told to book a private dentist for check up. I paid £27 for no check up visit. What a joke !!!

Severe toothache dismissed despite clear infection I rang 111 at 04:00 after being woken by unbearable tooth pain that had already been ongoing for two days. I was referred here for an emergency appointment which at first seemed great. After an X ray clearly showed an infection or abscess at the root of my tooth I was shocked to be told that no antibiotics would be prescribed. I was simply advised to keep taking paracetamol and ibuprofen. No referral for a root canal was offered. They just said they can pull my tooth out. Imagine going to university for 7 years to become a dentist, and all you can do is remove a tooth. Anyone can remove a tooth. Nobody within the building could perform a root canal - blows my mind. It is now 02:00 the following night and I still cannot sleep. My cheek has now swollen further and the pain is radiating across the entire left side of my face. The idea that a bacterial gum infection evidenced by a scan does not warrant antibiotics is beyond belief. I now have to chase another appointment at 08:00 just to be prescribed the medication that should have been given in the first place. False economy. Total waste of time and I strongly recommend that if you know you have an infection/abscess and require antibiotics to treat the pain in order to buy time to find a specialist to perform a root canal, then ask 111 NOT to refer to the RVI Dental Hospital in Newcastle.
