We recently visited Willows Dental Practice with our little boy, Daniel. On the positive side, the practice itself is beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and Dr Neil was wonderful with our son. He has a calm and reassuring manner and made Daniel feel very relaxed, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, our overall experience was mixed. The appointment was just under 30 minutes, and we paid £2,264, but we didn’t see a noticeable difference afterwards. What concerned me more was the difficulty in obtaining an invoice. I needed it for our dental insurance, and at first I was told it couldn’t be provided. I eventually insisted and received one, but the breakdown didn’t seem to match the treatment received. Having worked in dental billing and administration for many years, some of the charges raised questions for me - most items were all priced the same at £297 despite being different treatments, and I was unsure why we were billed £297 for oral sedation "observation" when the medication was administered at home and didn’t appear to have an effect. I contacted the practice afterwards for clarification, but overall this left us feeling uneasy and disappointed, especially given the cost. For us, it was an expensive lesson and we don’t feel comfortable returning based on this experience. My advice to other patients would be: always ask for a detailed invoice after your treatment rather than relying only on the initial quotation. We genuinely wish Willows Dental well and we appreciate the care Dr Neil provided for our son, but the administrative and billing side of the visit didn’t meet our expectations.
