AVOID. I have been going to this practice for over 25 years. I would no longer recommend this dentist to anyone . At the end of last year the dentist gave me a jag in the top gum and started drilling a tooth that had already been filled and needed no further work. They decided to continue to work on the tooth by putting in a fissure sealant, when there was no need to. The apology I recieved was when I was still laying down on the chair. The dentist couldn't even take time to look at me in the eye and apologise. I had to make another appointment to get the correct tooth worked on. I didn't ask but I was surprised no compensation/small discount was taken off after what I had experienced during the previous visit. Most recently, I had an emergency appointment taken by Robin and it was more professionally handelled. I was given a jag, an xray was taken and I was given a prescription for antibiotics. They told me I had to book in to get my top wisdom tooth taken out. Upon arrival today I was asked what was wrong with my teeth by the dentist because they "couldn't understand Robin's notes". Again very unprofessional and I have zero trust in this practice, therefore I walked out of the surgery. I know of other people who have had problems with this practice too in recent years. I would suggest to avoid at all costs. Sad to say in my opinion they have ruined the reputation of MacDougall R H & Allison dental surgery.

Been going here since a child with Robin’s dad. It’s a delight going here , Robin and staff are so friendly & entertaining . Doesn’t rip you off , I recently recommended him to family & friends who had had ridiculous quotes for veneers etc , he did a fantastic job at a more realistic price - don’t retire Robin / still recovering from Susan retiring

Have been in this practice since I was a child. I'm now 42!! No need to write anything more. Got composite bonding recently and I love it. Robin has been my dentist for many years, his dad treated me as a child. Sense of humour is whacky like mine! I don't want him to retire ☹️☹️

What a great dentistry. From the moment they answer the door to you and the moment you walk out the door after your treatment, you are treated with the highest of dignity. My teeth where a total mess as I fell and broke many teeth. I so wish I had looked after my teeth but had to have nearly all of them pulled and I remember the last tooth I had extracted extracted was a brute to remove. I was in pain but the kind senior assistant nurse took my hand and I squeezed her hand so tight that I had to remember to loosen my grip (I recommend taking a little stress ball to squeeze) but her doing that mentally helped. Also as the dentist didn't have much to grip as most of tooth was just above the gum and the majority was under the gum as tooth and root. It took him alot of work to remove it. After time he got it out totally rotted. Every muscle in my body was pressing back into that chair and the sweat was running off me. Dentist asked are you feeling warm. I said I'm cooking. He grabbed my wrist and said I feel freezing which he new if I stood up I would most likely pass-out and let me lay down for 15 mins. Total professionalism from nurses, reception and the work that was carried out by the dentist was second to none and knowing you are in the hands of a long term professional at his skill level makes that next visit a whole lot easier. Can't thank all the professional kindhearted folk at this dentistry. 💐⚘⚘❤
