I have been attending this practice for more than 25 years and hands down have never experienced such horrendous customer service in all my life as I did yesterday. The practice in my opinion has gone down hill massively from Nigel took it over. If I could give 0 stars I would. I was a Denplan patient and had queried the £350 ‘lab fee’ I was quoted for a crown. I emailed asking for my dental records and an explanation as to why the lab fee was £350 when they make the crowns In-house or can use a lab. I got the following reply ‘Clinically necessary cerec crown denplan lab fees are as per your estimate from November. Private pay as you go fees are higher, denplan does not include crowns. To proceed with treatment please get in touch and we will arrange a suitable appointment.’ It’s funny they say Denplan doesn’t include crowns as when I phoned Denplan to check my plan they said it was included and all I had to pay was the lab fee. I replied and asked what dental lab they were using to make these crowns as I work in a Dental Practice and know crown lab fees are not £350 as I had phoned different labs and was quoted nowhere near £350. I then received the below email from the practice. Good morning Aimee, Thank you for your email. Our Denplan care set fees for Cerec crowns have been outlined on several occasions, but we understand you can access dental care elsewhere. As such, unfortunately due to a breakdown in relationship, we have cancelled your Denplan care membership and will refund your February payment. You have your recent X-rays and dental records and so are welcome to find an alternate dentist to take on your dental care. Future appointments at this practice have also been cancelled. We appreciate your loyalty to Holywood Dental Care over the years and wish you all the best for the future. Many thanks, Holywood Dental Care I think it’s safe to say the practice obviously doesn’t care about their patients. They do not appreciate your loyalty or they wouldn’t be removing you and cancelling someone’s plan for simply querying the price of a crown lab fee. It is ridiculous, an overreaction and makes me believe I was trying to be overcharged. I will not be recommending this practice to anyone and will be telling everyone about the extremely poor service I have received.

I had my Invisalign treatment here and couldn't recommend these guys enough. The friendliest, most efficient team ever. Adam was my dentist throughout the treatment and he is exceptional at his job. Always has time for a chat, explains every detail in a way you'll understand, and leaves you feeling happy & confident! His assistants were awesome too (shoutout to Sophie who was there most often)!

Cannot recommend them more highly. Since my first visit every person I met ( Amanda and Kyra ) was very courteous friendly and professional. They really took the time necessary to do everything right – and as a new patient took some really good time to get to know me and my family. Adam is Very professional and skilled, so thorough and informative, and lets you know every step of the way what’s going on, so there are no surprises. My Invisalign treatment was amazing. I love my new smile. Laura, the dental hygienist is excellent too. Also, the practice is very well equipped and modern. Nigel has definitely invested in, so the patient gets the best treatment and experience. Great, caring, attentive dentist and staff! Definitely 5 stars and an excellent dental experience! X

Terrible experience with them today - I have been having pain in lower left side for some time. Nigel advised I didn't need root canal on them instead it was gums being cleaned. He then booked me in for a further 5 appointments none relating to my lower left side. I was wanting to discuss my lower left pain issues and try to get some understanding myself why I didn't need any further treatment on them but Nigel just talks in circles and doesn't give you straight direct answer. I called the receptionist later on as she mucked up the appointments and booked me in for hygienist for third appointment instead of 5th which was meant to be for root canal. I said something along the lines of is any of this treatment plan directly related to my left lower side - and she got all defensive and put dentist on who was patronising on the phone '' we talked about this already ''.....as a patient I have a right to ask questions about my treatment plan. They said I am questioning him as a dentist..which I wasn't - I wanted just a clear understanding myself. Anyway I was told to go elsewhere. Can you imagine asking a few questions about your dental care and the next thing I am told to go elsewhere. They are very defensive for no reason at all. There was no anger just simply asking a few questions about my treatment. The dentist told me '' you were booked in for 1 hour...and now I am twiddling my thumbs for 30mins ...cause you didn't;'t get root canal'....thats because he stated I have gum issues and didn't recommend giving me root canal treatment. The dentist Nigel talks in riddles and loves the sound of his own voice. I wanted direct answers about my dental care and received none. They are on the pricey side for even a new patient consultation costing £95 where as many others are £50. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone in Holywood. Receiving a simple caring manner for patients questions should come part of this job. I am completely shocked at the whole staffs attitude including the receptionist. Because they refuse to answer simple questions such as '' do I need further treatment on the lower teeth or not''...they got themselves all in a state. Patronising your patients isn't the way to go. If I need something clarified its on YOU as the dentist to explain that again....in this case the dentist REFUSED to explain to me which is pure neglect to patient care. If I was an elderly person I feel sorry for how they would deal with them.Instead of listening to your own voice - listen to the patients and answer their questions. Its all very simple! EDIT - Right after I did this review they posted negative fake reviews about my own business and then did 3 fake reviews on their own page to make themselves look good. .. They wanted me to remove my review and I told them my experience is accurate unlike what they said about my own business which they have never attended. Horrible people. EDIT: I have now received a solicitors letter on this firms behalf for the comments I made. To be clear - review will not be removed and is fully accurate of events.

I have recently completed my Invisalign journey under the care of Nigel. From initally reaching out to make the first enquiry to finishing my final set of trays, it has been smooth sailing. Everyone from the reception team, to the dental nurses and Nigel himself have been more than friendly with nothing ever being too much trouble. The practice itself is inviting with dental massage chairs, low lighting and patient parking which is a huge perk in a town centre. I am glad that I picked Holywood dental care to carry out my treatment. Nigel and the team explained the process in great detail and carried out many check up appointments along the way, ensuring above all that I was happy with the results at each stage. Many thanks to all involved in giving me a better result than I thought was ever possible.

Really friendly and efficient dental practice. Taken on time for my appointment. Dental nurse greeted me at reception and escorted me down to my dentist. Treatment plan was explained and both Kyra and Nigel were happy to answer my questions. Next appointment was arranged after initial examination by friendly front of house. I would recommend this dental practice.
