In August 2025, the cement on the wired retainer at the back of my tooth was reconnected. Just one month later, the wire came loose again, resulting in an exposed wire that caused bleeding to my tongue and gums. They initially offered a free repair. However, since their previous repairs had failed, I requested the complete removal of the retainer to prevent the recurring pain and bleeding. Their response was astonishing: they cancelled my emergency appointment and terminated my membership. This caused me considerable inconvenience, as I was then left struggling to find another dentist to correct their faulty work. Because I was not a member elsewhere, I had an exposed wire in my mouth for an extended period, which led to further pain and increased expense to get the issue fixed. I have never been subjected to such poor treatment by an organisation. It is unbelievable that a dentist in 2025 would treat a paying patient so dismissively during an hour of genuine need. To the administrator who responds to negative reviews and asks people to contact them to discuss their poor experience—don't bother. Your manager has already made their view of their patients abundantly clear.

I have been a patient at Adel Dental Practice since 2009. This is the only dental practice my children have ever attended. We have been very happy with the practice over the many years. The desk staff is marvellous - professional, kind, and courteous. The dental hygienist service has got even better over the years - with better equipment and more advice on how to keep decay at bay between treatments. The dentists I have had are very thorough and extremely well trained. I feel myself to be in very good hands and I am grateful for this.

I have been a regular patient at Adel Dental Practice for some time, consistently attending my 9 am appointments. Recently, the practice called me to cancel my scheduled appointment at short notice, offering me a new time of 11:30 am which was inconvenient and disruptive to my day. Unfortunately, I subsequently missed this newly rescheduled appointment, a fact I acknowledged when I called the practice. I asked if I could reschedule, just as they had done with me. While they agreed, they informed me that I would lose my deposit for missing the appointment. I find this policy incredibly unfair. There is no penalty for the practice when they cancel on a patient and cause inconvenience, but there is a financial penalty for the patient who needs the same flexibility, especially when the disruption was initiated by the practice in the first place. This lack of fairness and understanding has been very disappointing. A good patient relationship should be built on mutual respect, and this experience has shown that is not the case here. I will be taking my business to a different practice that values its patients' time as much as its own.

I needed two implants-a straightforward premolar and a complicated canine on the same side. The canine was complicated because I had a baby tooth impacted in the jawbone that needed first to be extracted, and a bone graft inserted in the hollow space before the implant could be placed. I had two initial consultations with Dr Dominic 'O' Hooley, whom I had researched, and found to be a highly experienced implant expert. But I did worry that extracting the impacted tooth might cause the teeth next to it to get loose and fall out. I also worried if I could handle two implants on the same day and having to keep my mouth open and be still for a long time! However, Dom was very patient, answering all my queries and concerns, with no pressure. I felt very reassured and after two consultations, I decided to go for it and to have both implants put in during a single procedure- as this would mean only one recovery period. The procedure was planned carefully and every stage was explained to me so I understood what was being done and why. During the surgery, I was kept informed at every stage what was happening and kept comfortable and pain-free. It was a long and difficult procedure, but I felt safe and in good hands throughout. All the staff at Adel were very kind and lovely. The only pain was during recovery, which was managed with Ibuprofen and paracetamol. I am very glad I decided to take the plunge, and I am absolutely delighted with the results, I have a perfect smile now-thank you! I highly recommend Dominic for anyone needing an implant-five star patient care and on top of expertise, which is a rare combination nowadays I believe.

Been a paying member for 2 years. Called for an emergency appointment. They charged me £70 despite receiving no treatment (was not required) and was out of the dentist chair in 30 seconds.

I wanted to share my experience with the dental treatment I recently underwent at Adel Dental. I needed an implant for an upper back tooth, and I was quite anxious about such a significant procedure. I was referred to Dr. Dominic O’Hooley, whose reputation as an outstanding implant specialist and lecturer gave me the confidence to proceed. From the initial consultation through to the subsequent appointments, Dr. O’Hooley was incredibly kind and took the time to explain everything clearly, which really put me at ease. Yesterday, I had the implant placed, and whilst I anticipated some discomfort, I was pleasantly surprised at how manageable it was, just a bit of paracetamol did the trick. This morning, I woke up with no pain at all, which was beyond my expectations. I’ve been diligently following the post-surgery advice Dr. O’Hooley provided, which was also reiterated by the lovely receptionist before I left. I know how important it is to adhere strictly to those instructions to ensure the best outcome. Overall, this experience has truly exceeded my expectations. Dr. O’Hooley and his team work seamlessly together (I apologise for not remembering the nurses’ names; I was too engrossed in my audiobook to take note). I’m genuinely looking forward to the final stage in 12 weeks. Thank you, Dr. O’Hooley and team, for your exceptional care!
