This was my NHS dentist. I have decided to give up my NHS dentist because of them wanting to extract a tooth. I had had no pain and the dentist said the route was small and he couldn’t see clearly on the X-Ray. He also said his equipment that he had was not able to deal with such a small route. My options other than an extraction was a crown (their drills weren’t fine enough)or an implant. I decided to get a second opinion. I paid for a private apt. An Xray from the private dentist practise found a shadow of infection and treated it with a crown cost £500. If I had gone to my referral from the NHS it was £800.00. The tooth was more to the front of my mouth so didn’t want it taken out. I attended last apt with this NHS dentist and even after I had had the private crown fitted he still wanted to extract the tooth because he wasn’t happy with the clarity of the Xray that he took! The moral of my review is get a second opinion when treatment is invasive, when you have had no pain.

I have been with this dental practice for nearly 20 years as an NHS patient. I have now been forced to leave. Over the last few years things have got worse but post COVID the service has been awful. Whatever time of day you call you are on hold forever listening to terrible music, interrupted by their private care adverts throughout. The receptionists are rude and dismissive. It is very hard to get an appointment even if you have an emergency. This year my appointments have been getting more and more spread out. Children should be seen every 6 months but they kept pushing back their appointments too. My filling fell out and I was told to repair myself and waited 6 months to be seen and then it feel again a further 3 times. My dentist has since started working part time for NHS and my appointments got pushed back and back until she has completely stopped working for NHS now. The practice has not recruited any more dentists so my only choice is to go private. Well no thank you. Not with this practice. I feel like this has been their plan all along. To make my experience so difficult that I accept private care. Let's remember NHS patients still pay. I am a customer but 1a dental has no customer service or care for patients. I would not recommend. I understand the current situation is political and probably lies with government but this practice seems to be looking out for its profits and not patient care.

Recent visit to my dentist was so bad, I ended up with bleeding mouth after wrong too big X-ray plates were inserted into my mouth, avoid this place unless desperate for a dentist.

Needed to see emergency dentist, the dentist called me back, assessed over the phone and looked at pictures I had sent earlier. Sorted out a prescription for antibiotics for me and told me to visit in 5 days time once swelling reduced and I could register and be seen by dentist then.

Need to have a word with your receptionists. Unprofessional, not very well informed and need to go on a customer care course.

I recently attended the dentist for some treatment and was looked after by Farzin. She listened to the concerns I had with the previous recommendations I'd been given and rather than refer me to the cosmetic dentists as had happened before she suggested an alternative treatment route that did exactly what I needed. I couldn't be happier with the service and treatment I received. Thanks Farzin and colleagues.

Don't bother, this dentist is not only impossible to get an appointment but also I find a recent situation completely unprofessional! I arrived for a long awaited appointment...to be told that the dentist light is not working and they would need to cancel, they did not contact me despite having my contact details...having taken time out of work this was frustrating...Even worse a few weeks later...I called for an emergency appointment as I now have pain, then then called me back to say they won't see me as I missed my last appointment!! Just awful treatment

After reading the reviews on here I was slightly worried about registering. But I was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was polite and friendly and the dentist and assistant totally put me at ease. Very calming for me a super nervous patient. Left feeling relaxed and unworried. Thank you
