Excellent - been cared for by the same dentist for ten years. Great with young children.

Been using this place for years. Yea, they are busy but always with an explanation. Having any tooth treatment is an emotional time, we are worried on so many levels. This can make us on high alert and over sensitive. They do their best to cope and adapt to the situation. My experience over the last 6-7 years has been really good. TICK !

Firstly the dentist Dr David Ash provides an excellent service this review has nothing to do with the dentists there but the hygienist is a hustle. Don't make appointments with the hygienist.

If you like receptionists with a lack of empathy, uncaring and robotic in their attitude, then this is the surgery for you.

Like walking into a cult that gaslights you and refuses to accept that human beings may have emotions. I am appalled at the treatment of thy reception staff who were so rude to me, granted I walked in a bit of a whirlwind after waiting in terrible traffic, I did try to call for an hour and was hung up on twice once I was in position to be next on call. I was accused of shouting (I have a booming voice) the Dentist was great no problem at all, upon checking out I was super calm and expressed id like to make a complaint as I was "gaslit" and goaded to react. I didn't do this and maintained composure to be hit with "you don't know what's going on in people's lives" I agreed and then said I'm the patient and want to leave without drama, this was refused the reception lady then started crying like a child, at this point I had to leave due to this emotional immaturity and feeling like this drama was caused unnecessarily as I didn't react. Possibly the most bizzare, cult like practice I've ever visited. A real shame as 20 years ago this was a friendly warm place, like many NHS institutions since Covid all sense had gone out the window. Avoid this practice and it's staff like the plague, should come with a health warning.

I went here for a checkup after not having been to the dentist for over a year. The dentist told me I needed 4 fillings, which surprised me as I’d never needed any before. I decided to get a second opinion and was told that I actually only needed one filling. The second dentist seemed pretty surprised about what I’d been told. Also, my boyfriend had a checkup the day before me and was asked by his dentist at the end of his appt (after being told he didn’t need anything done) whether he wanted to move to an NHS slot. I asked the following day if they had any NHS slots and was told they absolutely didn’t, and I’ve never seen any advertised. Seems that they’re picking out who can be NHS patients, which seems pretty unethical.

I have been a patient at this practice for all my adult life (now 61). The staff on the desk have always been friendly but professional, taking time to get the appointments to suit me, including when I cracked my tooth, all sorted and repaired within a couple of days. But the main part of my review is about David Ash, my dentist. Lovely, friendly man, always puts you at ease before any treatment. It's not just your teeth he checks though. He checks your jaw and throat, tongue and over your face. And the last time I had an appointment he told me to get a spot checked on my forehead. My doctor booked an appointment with a specialist, who confirmed what Mr Ash knew right from the start, it's cancer. Easily treated, thank goodness, but thank you David for noticing something I hadn't really paid attention to, keep up the good work!

I was informed that the practice only accepts NHS registrations once the patient has a consultation and any recommend work done privately. This requirement was satisfied, however, I was removed from their books without being informed. It turns out that I requested a callback to book in a routine check-up which was never fulfilled by the surgery resulting in a lapse between check-ups (most of which was due to the pandemic). I disputed this, but was told I would need to be seen privately again as NHS slots are not available. Turns out I've managed to find a dental surgery within my area that accepts NHS patients off the bat and has good appointment availability so I will not be rejoining this practice. Treatment was average at best, phones were never answered, and wait times were long.
