St. George's Dental Practice
Dental clinic

I have been at this dentist for years. I have just read that they scale and Polish teeth. I have mentioned this and all I got was a couple of teeth scraped nothing else. I am going to phone and ask for an appointment with the hygienist and see what happens.

How many times can they cancel on me. If it was the other way round they would take me of their books

Awful service! I would give 0 stars if I could! They booked an appointment for my Dad with the wrong date of birth and refused to take him in just because of the staff’s error. They did not seem to make any effort at all to try and sort it out that same day…instead they suggested to book another appointment which was not ideal for my Dad’s state. They only decided to correct the error after my sister went back in to make a complaint. They even gave the incorrect request for another patient with all their details which is breaching patient confidentiality. They made the process seem a lot more complicated and dragged out in comparison to the other clinic we went to which sorted everything out in just one day.

Absolutely no urgency or hospitality towards emergencies unfortunately. Took WEEKS to get appointments and xrays alone, thats without the proper appointment to get my father’s teeth removed as it was causing him terrible headaches and it was painful for him to eat. Additionally, when given a referral, wrote the date of birth wrong and had to wait until a weekend had passed to get it sorted if I hadn’t walked in and emphasised his urgency. When he’d had enough, he went to another dentist, and got an appointment to get his teeth removed all in the same day, which is just ridiculous.

I can only assume the reason people keep coming back here is because of the lack of NHS dentists… it’s certainly not for the staff’s dazzling personalities and professionalism. Please read their shocking inspection report…it will certainly make you think twice about stepping foot in the place, which looks more like a squatters den than a healthcare provider. The manager sneers at you if you dare to make a complaint and quite clearly has had no training in her role. I was astonished to read that all the admin staff, including her are dental nurses, which speaks volumes about their care practices if they are what they have to offer. When she was asked what group owned the practice…once again she sneered “it’s some guy called Richard who lives in Ireland.” They have no regard for GDPR practices and a complaint to the ICO has been made due to their breaches.

We've been registered at this practice for quite a few years and have had various work and regular check-ups to ensure that I remain listed with them for NHS treatment. Maria my dentist has only every been excellent in every way - what a wonderful person and I've only ever received the very best care and treatments from her. It does take a while to get an appointment and it's a BIG challenge to get through on the phone, or get a response to repeat prescription emails, but I'm sure they are working hard to bring down the wait and always try to deal with emergency pain appointments quickly. Great NHS service; thank you! Keep up the good work.

My first visit for some time, my dentist having left, I was very pleased by the friendly service of the receptionists. Always unsure when seeing a new dentist, Alex put me at ease and was very thorough.

I sent an email on the 2nd of May regarding re-enrolment into the NHS system (and was told this was possible by members of staff at the practice.) It is now the 30th of may with no response to the main email or the numerous follow-up emails politely asking for it to be reviewed. After 2 weeks had passed, I called the practice and was told to wait another week to see if there would be a reply. Once a week had passed called again, was told to wait more. Yesterday I called again and was sent to voice mail 5 times after someone picked up and then was told that I was apparently misinformed by multiple members of staff, and it was not possible for them to for re-enrolment. Outrageous that after 5 weeks of waiting there was no reply from any member of staff to email and had to call multiple times after being sent to voice mail just to be told it could not be done. Incredibly unresponsive and unprofessional service.
