A very big thank you to Ana and her team for putting me at ease during my period of treatment. As a very anxious patient I was immediately at ease, talked through my treatment step by step and appointments were tailored to my convenience. Would highly recommend Ana.

Just wanted to say thank you to Maria and the technician who recently did my treatment at Mydentist Mapperley They were amazing after a few years of problems I can smile again. Kind gentle understanding and just first class. Restored my faith in dentists. From when you walk in the reception the staff are helpful and relaxing. All this and I’m a NHS client. Thank you

My wife Sue visited Mr Fletcher and asked me to say what great service. I had a problem that was dealt within 3 hours from the initial phone call thanks to the gentleman on reception fitting me in. Nothing is too much trouble for Paul and his nurse, always displaying great skill and such kindness. The NHS provides a great dental service at this practice, they should be proud of you all. Thank you , from Sue.

My 7 year old is currently being treated by Paul Fletcher after an accident which broke both his front adult teeth. Paul has been outstanding with my son, putting him at ease during various appointments on the lead up to a composite rebuild which took place today. I’m posting before and after photos, the results are amazing. Couldn’t recommend Paul Fletcher and MyDentist enough. Thankyou!

I have been seeing Mr Fletcher for a while now after complaining about another of their dentist who I was not happy with. I have to say Mr Fletcher is an amazing dentist, everything is explained so I know exactly what is happening, he is very thorough and has a lovely friendly manner. One of the best dentist I have ever been to.

Wanted to share my recent experience with this practice, after being taken advantage of with unnecessary treatment. I’ll start this off with saying that both reception staff & all the dental assistants are some of the loveliest, understanding and caring people who I was truly grateful for on the day I visited. However, it was entirely downhill from here when I was being seen by one dentist (who I won’t name). I’m on disability pay, I have severe anxiety alongside a condition of my nervous system that results in heart palpitations and shakes when under stress. This was clearly documented on my online form; I was shaking too badly on the day to write this on my paper version. Upon entering the treatment room for a checkup, I made sure to tell the dentist this information. Instead of being understanding, I was immediately met with “You should’ve put that on your form”. I clarified that I did via the online one; he huffed and went to the computer to check I was telling the truth. “No you did not, write it down next time”. (I can assure you, it was there). At this point, my anxiety was sky high and I felt myself becoming incredibly vulnerable as I soon realised I wasn’t in the hands of someone capable of being kind. After taking X-rays and lacking a proper gum examination (for example testing pocket depth), I get told that I have severe Periodontal Disease including bone loss. I’m shocked, to which I’m asked in a very accusatory tone “Do you brush your teeth?”. I replied, twice a day with a sonic toothbrush, mouth-washing between meals. I have never had a cavity or bad calculus. He did not seem to believe me and proceeded to lay it on thick that I would need a £270 deep clean of all my teeth as well as check ups every 3 months. I was also told I required prescription mouthwash and toothpaste to ‘save my teeth’. I left in tears, got home and had at look at my gum health for myself. I couldn’t see any problems that would indicate severe periodontal disease and I was right. I decided to get a second opinion at my partners dentist of 8+ years. (Sherwood dental care) I waited two weeks feeling awful about myself and my OCD was triggered massively. Sleepless nights, severe anxiety to find out that I had in fact - a simple case of reversible gingivitis. I had a £68 hygienist visit taking 20 minutes and was told I was doing everything perfectly with my teeth, and that I only need to visit once every 6 months. I feel disgusted that I was upsold unnecessary treatment and was taken advantage of as a disabled patient on limited income. I wasn’t treated with care by the dentist and definitely did not feel at ease. I’m glad I got a second opinion and saved my gums + £270. Do not hesitate to ask for a second opinion if you get told the same thing. I hope no one else experiences this when visiting, if your dentist can’t have good communication with you, they’re not a good dentist. Furthermore, when I had my front tooth cosmetically bonded in 2021 at mapperly, the dentist I had was lovely as was his assistant and that’s why I returned when I had income available. It’s a shame that the place has gone downhill so dramatically in a short time.

Having been at this dentist for my first ever teeth check as a child some many years back now with Mr Herman, I have seen changes to this practice since his retirement to which I have liked or sometimes not liked and never mentioned my opinions. My children see Dr Fletcher and his energetic enthusiasm, transparency shines through and it’s so refreshing and adds reassurance. Myself have seen different Dentists over the years that are not as enthusiastic, but I have to say having been treated by Christina Silva I would say she is just as good as Dr Fletcher! She was clear, she talked through each step of what was going to happen and even after she was clear asked if I was ok and also let me knew the next steps. She came across as passionate about her patient, the practice and herself. I also want to give a shout out to the male in reception ( I can’t remember his name) he was polite, you could have a laugh and also he was professional. Definitely have noticed a remarkable difference! Credit where it’s due…

The entire practice lacks communication, extra treatment was done to me when I clearly stated I didn’t want it done on that day. They ask for ridiculous amounts of money and when they say they do schemes to spread payments this isn’t in fact true. If you want to spread treatments over a few months they make you pay for another check up to tell you the treatment you need again.
