The worst dentist i have ever been to, i first went to him 2 years ago after being made redundant due to the pandemic, so i needed a nhs dentist and had some pain in a tooth, he advised me straight away to have the tooth extracted and have a false tooth or a dental implant, (he even took a mold for false teeth without discussing it with me)which i couldn't afford so had to agree to an extraction which was annoying as it was at the front, right at the end of the appointment i questioned whether anything else could be done and eventually he said we might be able to save it, to which he took a mold for a crown and booked me in for another appointment, he gave me a quote for the work and i had no choice but to agree to it, then at home i looked up dental charges for NHS patients and found that they have set charges for each treatment, i spoke to the NHS and asked for advice and they took note of what had happened, i also spoke to another NHS dentist to ensure there was no mistake, he was overcharging me by a huge amount, when i questioned him at the appointment we had a huge row and he admitted he was trying to pull a fast one and agreed to stick to rules.
I had to go back several times due to problems with the crown he fitted and i also had some pain on the other side of the mouth, when i asked him to look at this after he finished my crown he said i'll need to book another appointment, i then pointed out we were 5 minutes untill my appointment was due to start (i always arrive early) he had a quick look and said nothing is wrong and my pain is due to my molars missing and teeth grinding, i trusted he knew what he was doing and left, the pain continued and again went back a week later again he was very condescending and said there was nothing he could do, a couple of months went by with the pain getting worse i went to the doctor about it and he advised to go back to the dentist but also gave me medication for a sinus infection because he didn't know what it could be and i told him Kian ensured me it wasn't dental, i was now getting huge pains in my gums, headaches and all the nerves round the face were in constant pain, i went back to Kian last Monday and again he didn't look properly, again said there was nothing wrong and it was down to my teeth grinding and molars missing and charged me for the appointment, i went away again thinking it must be something more serious again as his X ray's are not showing anything and he can't see anything that would be causing this huge amount of pain. I thought i'd get a second opinion as i couldn't believe it wasn't dental, went to the Old Mill dentists the next day and they couldn't believe what he had missed, a huge amount of decay on my wisdom tooth and they extracted it straight away, they were shocked he didn't see this, the dental nurse showed my the X ray and said she would have noticed this.
In the years i went to Kian i found him noisy, over the top and unprofessional constantly walking out of the room to talk to patients during my treatment, he also has questionable hygiene issues as his fingers (gloved) smelled of faeces as he put them in my mouth, not sure whether he did this on purpose but i vowed then not to go back but unfortunately did as i had to.
Kian seems to want to be everybody's pal but most people just want a dentist who'll do their job properly and fairly, they had staff who worked with him at the old Mill who said a lot of patients have come over to them for certain shocking reasons but this is my review and i will just tell of my experience. After having the treatment at Old Mill i realised i would rather pay more there at a proper dentist than ever have to deal with this man again.
I think the fact that i sought a second opinion the day after visiting him says it all. Photo of the X rayed tooth from old mill that Kian missed and the decayed tooth.
