I had been a client of this practice for 17 years, and for the first time in 17 years I required an emergency appointment due to an infected tooth. I had been taking off the counter analgesics and I was in agony, unable to sleep at night due to pain. I was given an appointment 2 days later, to be told (after a less than 5 minutes consultation) that the pain was probably caused by trauma and to continue with the off the counter analgesics/anti inflammatory treatment (ibuprofen and paracetamol) and that the pain would go away. Four days later, I had to be taken for out of hours emergency treatment in Hull due to septicaemia. At that point I had fever, the left part of my face was swollen and my eye closed. I could not open the mouth, I could not eat and I had to use a straw for over a week as a result of the severity and extent of the infection. The answer of the practice was that the infection happened after I was seen and that they did all that they could at the time- so they would not accept any responsibility for the misdiagnosis or for not alleviating the pain and preventing a potential septicaemia. I have escalated the complaint and I have now registered with another practice. It seems that Clifton Moor Dental centre is more interested in aesthetics than in primary care as I keep getting marketing about their cosmetic services- yet they failed to provide the primary care for their patients. My husband had a similar experience with a rushed consultation and a wisdom tooth. He is now with another dental practice too and he's being treated.

Dentists are good but nigh on impossible to get a hygienist and dentist appt at the same time. Appts often cancelled and rearranged for times that don't suit. Refuse to take children registered with the practice as NHS patients even when they have spaces.

They sruck me off because I couldn't make a appointment because I was ill and they was contacting the wrong phone number for me even though I give them mine the right one so because of this I now have no dentist think it's discusseding what would they prefer me going in and passing it on to staff and other patients I think they are well out of order and I'd rate them no STAR IF COULD
