I don’t normally leave reviews because I don’t want to sound horrible about somebody. However, this is the third time I’ve been to this dental practice, once with my son who struggles with new people, and twice for myself.
My son’s experience was horrible, the dental nurse was loud and in his face, asking him questions about our home life, and school life as she could apparently tell he was stressed! Not just the fact he was nervous about somebody in her personal space. Through the procedure he had she only managed to do half of the filling because he would not allow her to give him any numbing, and then proceeded to apply the putty like gel on a mouth guard to get a gum shield fitted, at this point he was crying with fear! And she still held it in his mouth! After that she got funny about how it hadn’t set and he would just have to ‘deal with it’. He has not been back since!
My experience has also been the same, first appointment was okay ish, she said I needed so much work doing when the problem was only with a tooth that had basically shattered! At the time of my first appointment I was in the early stages of pregnancy and booked back in to have the work done, but unfortunately my pregnancy hasn’t been clear sailing and I had to cancel.
Moving forward to today, I rang and explained that the tooth was now causing me pain and that I needed it sorting. Was told by a very rude receptionist that because I hadn’t been seen in months I would have to have another consultation before I could have treatment, I will also say that I am now nearly 39weeks pregnant! And explained also I am extremely nervous and anxious when it comes to dentists, not a care was given!
Skip to now being sat in the waiting room, I can hear the lady talking about me, and how I shouldn’t have left it this long, and all the other work I needed doing!
Sat in the chair and she complained to me because I once had an allergic reaction to penicillin as a child, and she could only use another form of numbing, which DID NOT WORK! my gum and face turned numb, but as she started drilling into my tooth I could feel everything! I was shaking, crying, and told to lift my hand when I could feel pain, which I did… and instead of adding more numbing or helping, she just carried on drilling!
Told me ‘just a bit more’ over and over again! The assistant that was with her didn’t help also, and just sat there holding the suction in my mouth!
After she finally did what I can only assume she could, I sat up, was told that the tooth needed a lot more work, and I needed to come back as the filling was only temporary!
I can assure you I will NOT be going back, and will be going private!
