Top recommendation! Dr Paul Worskett is an absolute gem of a dentist who truly saved my bacon back on 21st August 2025 and was an absolutely brilliant implant dentist when I needed him most and at a moment’s notice. The day before he helped me, my 12-year old molar implant tooth (put in by the retired Consultant Dentist Dr Graham Stokes of LHDP, Bromsgrove) started to come loose and wobbly, probably exacerbated over time by my extreme bruxism. Unfortunately, it then got very wobbly and loose to the point that I couldn’t even clench my teeth and the gum around the implant was getting very sore. I was so worried that I might harm the implant screw set in my lower jaw and was even more worried the implant specialist of my regular local private dentist practice was abroad on holiday and that they didn’t even have the right tool needed for the particular Astra manufacturer of implant originally used my regular practice uses a different make and type of implant system. Fortunately, the very helpful Jo of LHDP, Bromsgrove rang around for me on the Thursday and contacted Paul who previously had practiced at LHDP and who had the right Astra implant tool to do the necessary repairs and maintenance to put things right. Paul’s lovely wife fitted me in that very same afternoon, and I drove the 38 miles or so from Tamworth to his practice in Belbroughton (which was surprisingly easy to get to from junction 4 of the M5 motorway). Fortunately, my implant, with the help of lots of swooshing mouthwash, actually came out before my arrival, which made life easier all round, but I am so grateful for the very timely help and dentistry that followed. Paul instantly inspired confidence – he was calm, friendly, knowledgeable, gentle, empathetic to my physical comfort, and knew exactly what to do. He was so good, in fact, that he instantly converted my implant from a stuck-on crown to one with a ‘maintenance’ access hole to the implant crown’s screw so that it would be easier to access and refix if ever I should experience the same or similar problem (an access hole that was then filled). His use of anaesthetic was also absolutely expert – maximum pain avoidance with minimum after effect. He was also very attentive to my bite and just shaved a bit off my implant to improve my bite while making sure it all my teeth still fit with the bite of my bruxism hard mouth splint. So even though he is not my regular private dentist, I will at least always keep his details on hand should my sole implant tooth ever need any maintenance or repair. Indeed, excellent as my regular private dentist is (a Consultant-level dentist who also teaches dentistry at various universities), Dr Paul Worskett is at least as good if not better. So although Paul Worskett’s Dentique dental practice is the best part of an 80-mile round trip for me to visit, I will definitely consider him as an alternative if I ever need any more implant work on other teeth. If his practice were closer to my locality, I would not hesitate for a second to sign up for a regular dental plan with him. He is undoubtedly a top-notch dentist and a genuinely nice and caring very professional man. So if you’re looking for a ‘good un’ then look no further. Confidence-inspiring dentists of this high calibre and experience are like gold. Trust me, this is a top recommendation from a VERY grateful emergency patient.
