I am absolutely appalled by my experience at this practice. I originally booked an appointment, but it was canceled due to the dentist being sick, which I understood. However, I had to wait weeks to finally see Virdah Dar. When I did, we agreed on a filling. The procedure itself was incredibly uncomfortable—I was practically upside down in the chair—but I didn’t say anything, assuming this was just how she worked.
Once the filling was done, she asked how it felt. I immediately said it did not feel right because the edges were still really sharp. She then had to file them down again—why wasn’t this done properly in the first place? But the worst part? Just 45 minutes after leaving the practice, while my mouth was still numb, the filling completely fell out.
I was specifically advised not to eat on that side for 24 hours, which I followed exactly—yet the filling still came out almost immediately. That is completely unacceptable. I have never in my life experienced anything like this, and I had every reason to be furious.
I called back and booked another appointment with Sue, the receptionist and practice manager. She is the only saving grace of this place—polite, professional, and genuinely helpful. However, when I asked to see a different dentist, I was told Virdah Dar is the only NHS dentist available. Given what happened, there is no way I would trust her again.
Sue is now trying to arrange a refund, but this has been an absolute nightmare. Not only has it been a huge inconvenience, but I am now in pain, searching for a new dentist, and worst of all—it’s my front tooth, so it looks absolutely awful. If this had been a private treatment, I have no doubt I would have been treated differently. NHS patients clearly do not receive the care they deserve, and it’s disgraceful.
