I had no complaints about this clinic and the staff before. But now I just want to share. I had an infection and decided to see a doctor. After the appointment, I was prescribed some medicine and the doctor wanted to come back in a couple of weeks to check if everything was okay. I paid for the appointment and the prescription. No complaints. I came for the second appointment and spent only 2 minutes in the doctor’s cabinet and for this time I had to pay 40 pounds!!! I understand that this is a private clinic. This is just ridiculous. If I knew, I would not have come to the appointment. This was my last visit. They lost a client.

I was seen today for a hygienist appointment booked for 12.20 I enquired on the phone if it was a 30 minute appointment, and I was told it was 25 minutes. I arrived at 12.10 I was handed three pieces of paper to complete, I had barely started the first one and I was told to fill them in afterwards. I was rushed in at 12.12 or thereabouts. I took about 5 mins to explain my history, as I didn’t think it was acceptable to give the information after being seen, defeats the point of it surely! I then had about 10 mins hygienist treatment, and was then told it had finished. I asked why I hadn’t got the full 25 minutes, and was told that it wasn’t needed, ‘I don’t want to take the enamel away’! I pointed out my front teeth were rough at the back still. I was told this was the teeth themselves, and that I could have expensive dental treatment to sort that out. I said my teeth haven’t been polished and I was told they have. Usually at the hygienist I have a polish where a substance that has a taste is polished into the teeth, this didn’t happen. This ‘service’ cost me the full £60. I have had regular hygienist treatments in London for years, I am very familiar with what to expect. My teeth were not cleaned and polished properly in the mere 10 minutes given. I will attend my usual hygienist in London when I next visit. To say I feel robbed is an understatement. Appalling service. I assume that the complaints procedure for the practice goes to the head dentist, who appears to be the husband of the hygienist in question.

Have been with Spilsby dentist for many years from nhs and now private. I find them to be very helpful and caring. My dentist takes time to explain everything to me and puts me at ease. The staff are polite the practice clean and welcoming.

I can't fault the skill of the dentist at all, because I never got to experience it. However. I did experience how they extracted nearly £400 (including ascotiated costs of medicines) from my bank account, and I'm still left in pain. After initial emergency admission (emergency first patient registration fee) of £150, I was prescribed Amoxycillin and told to rebook an appointment. So an extra £60 to rebook, £14 for prescription (charged £9 too at chemist because its a private prescription) £14 for X-ray referral (£50 for the actual X-ray also) and todays extra £60 just to be seen again(thankfully refunded after I kicked off), I was told I need 6 teeth taken out at £100 each for 4 & £150 for two molars. During this 4 to 6 week period, I was told about Denplan Care that they do. Great, I thought. That'll cover the costs of the treatment I need. Oh no, Not the case. Denplan, is only available if you're dentally healthy prior to commencing the plan. Neither the dentist or receptionist advised me of this. I found the attitude of the dentist, to be somewhat condescending. She actually told me, "if I don't like it, then go elsewhere". Considering I'd already spent the best part of £400 at her practice, that's not the attitude of a private dental practice that's to be expected. I would advise anyone that wishes to use this practice in the future, to think long & hard. It became clear very quickly, that the dentists only concern really, is purely from a business perspective and not the welfare of the patients. They clearly make a good income, to be able to afford to just work 4 days a week. Profit before patient welfare, is not how it should be. This dental practice exploits that. I would definitely not recommend this practice.
