Only consider If you want to be waiting months for appointments, have appointments cancelled on you and be on your invisalign journey for 3yrs + !
I began my Invisalign journey at the end of 2022. From the outset, I experienced issues with my bite , my teeth did not align properly, and I was unable to close them together, which led to TMJ symptoms. I paused treatment and fortunately the TMJ symptoms subsided. Due to a family bereavement, there was a delay before resuming treatment, and my teeth were rescanned.
Since then, I have had two further rescans because one tooth was not aligning correctly. At my appointment on 14th May 2025, I explained that I wanted to stop treatment because of how prolonged and frustrating the process had become. However, I was advised against ending treatment because I would not be able to have a fixed retainer fitted until my teeth were straight. We agreed to rescan again to target the final adjustments, particularly one tooth and my lower teeth.
I had a follow-up appointment scheduled for 11th June, which was cancelled because the aligners had not arrived. I heard nothing for a month, so I contacted reception myself, only to be told that my treatment had expired and I now had to see Shankar the dentist. This was extremely frustrating as:
• I was never informed that treatment was close to expiring,
• my 14th May rescan was a waste of time,
• I was not given any timelines from the start of treatment.
On top of this, I travel 3–4 hours each way from Leicester, which the team knew from the beginning and assured me would not be an issue. Yet I’ve repeatedly attended appointments only to face delays, cancellations, and lack of clarity. Some delays have been due to staff cancellations, others due to aligner delivery issues, and it has also been difficult to find availability, leading to waits of 3–4 months after aligners arrived.
After this incident, I submitted a complaint email. Nobody phoned or responded directly; they simply booked me in to see Shankar on 30th July 2025. At that appointment, he rescanned my teeth and explained that Invisalign was pushing back because it has been 3 years ; most of which was not my fault. He said it would take 3–4 weeks. It has now been 2 months since then.
To make matters worse, I was booked in for 30th September, and yet again my appointment was cancelled last minute. I had already booked a day off work and arranged travel, which is non-refundable.
Overall, I have spent almost three years, significant travel costs, and countless hours, only to be left without aligned teeth , which weren’t even that bad to begin with. I have received no accountability, no proactive communication, and no compensation for my losses. This experience has been incredibly stressful, disappointing, and I would not recommend it!!!
