I had an orthodontist here, a woman, she made me feel utterly let down and uncared for with my care. I have autism and so I think I was easy for her to fob off my concerns that she wasn’t fixing my overbite when she said she would. She constantly reassured me that she is tilting the bottom teeth backwards and that fixes the problem. But it didn’t fix my overbite; i still suffer symptoms such as discomfort when im eating, and my top teeth mark my bottom lips when relaxing, my teeth bite my cheeks by accident, and i have to rest my tongue on top of my bottom teeth to stop them going into the roof of my mouth, as well as more symptoms that affect me everyday. I tried to voice my concern that she never once used those small elastic bands you attach to the hooks on braces that are quite literally for fixing overbites, but was fobbed off, even though I had hook braces attached to my teeth. The icing on the cake was that when she decided she didn’t want to try and help me anymore, she left me with the braces glue on my teeth and gave my retainers for this shoddy job she had left me with. I still have the glue on my teeth a couple years later and yes it causes me discomfort. To fix the problems she neglected, I am going to have to save for years because I’ll need to now go private! Lastly, while I was under this orthodontist she was constantly extremely overbooked, getting your braces fixed if they broke was almost impossible. I would wholeheartedly try and get a different orthodontist if you are able.
