Francis has served as my dentist for the last 36 years, consistently demonstrating exceptional competence and compassion, and always exceeding expectations in the care of my teeth. I am deeply disappointed to learn of his retirement. I wish you all the best, Francis, and thank you for being the finest dentist I have ever had.
I visited the clinic for my six-month check-up, and the experience was disappointing. The receptionist regarded me as if she were doing me a favour, despite the fact that I had paid for my check-up.
The dentist who attended to me performed only the basic procedures and nothing more. I returned to the clinic because I had broken a tooth. I called to schedule an appointment to address this issue, and an appointment was arranged for me. I took time off work to attend this appointment, but the day before, I was informed that it was cancelled due to the dentist's illness.
A second appointment was scheduled, but on the morning of that appointment, I received an email notifying me that it had to be cancelled again because the dentist was sick once more. A third appointment was arranged, and I received a text message about its cancellation. When I called to inquire about the numerous cancellations, I felt dismissed. After four appointments were made, I finally managed to attend one after so many cancellations.
I had a denture fitted, but it was uncomfortable as it pressed against my gums. I called to book another appointment with the dentist; however, the first appointment was cancelled again, and a second one was scheduled. During the second appointment, the dentist drilled down the dentures slightly to make them more comfortable, but this did not alleviate the issue.
I mentioned experiencing dryness in my mouth while wearing the dentures, but she dismissed my concerns, stating that it would improve over time as I adjusted to wearing them. Unfortunately, the dentures continued to press on my gums, causing pain. I ultimately stopped wearing them, despite the cost of £319.00.
I scheduled a consultation with a private dentist, who informed me that the materials used to create the dentures are responsible for the dryness in my mouth. She suggested that I return to my previous dentist; however, I chose not to pursue this option as I was aware they would likely not take any action. I contacted the General Dental Council to request a refund, but they responded by stating that I should return to the dentist. Additionally, they mentioned that since I am not receiving benefits, they would be unable to refund my money.
